This is a program that the New York State Department of Agriculture started to increase awareness of the number, diversity and quality of agricultural products grown, caught, raised or processed in New York. The idea behind this voluntary program is to help consumers identify New York products when shopping at their supermarket, green market or roadside stand. So look for the logo that tells you it’s a quality New York product.
The Pride of New York Harvest Festival offers you a great chance to sample many of the products in this program. The Festival at the Desmond in Albany, November 15-16. Watch for detials on the Festival in the Albany Times Union.
